Greystone Property Group is a boutique luxury real estate brokerage deeply rooted in the culture and landscape of Western North Carolina. Based in Transylvania County, we serve buyers and sellers who care about the details, across the region’s most sought-after communities.
Our foundation is construction. Shay Dalton, Owner and Broker in Charge, also owns Big Moose Construction and Dalton Professional Services, giving her a business owner’s eye for what actually makes a property valuable, not just what makes it show well. Broker Josh Vaughan brings his own general contracting background into every walkthrough. Together, our brokers give clients unmatched insight into property quality, structural integrity, and true land value.
We are purposefully small. Every client receives senior-level attention, honest counsel, and a partner committed to every step, from first showing to final closing and beyond.

Six generations of Owner and Broker in Charge Shay Dalton’s family have called Transylvania County home, long before Brevard became a destination on anyone’s map. That kind of local isn’t something you can build through marketing. It’s something you inherit.
Shay’s great-great-grandfather, Joseph Wilde, was one of only three early photographers working in Transylvania County. He never kept a studio. Instead, from around 1916 to 1950, he traveled to family homes, churches, and logging camps throughout these mountains, photographing people who might otherwise never have had their picture taken. He knew the logging camps well because he worked them himself, as a crew supervisor, between jobs behind the camera.
His work is preserved today at the Transylvania County Library as The Joe Wilde Photographs, donated by his eldest daughter, Dorothy Wilde Galloway. It’s a quiet, lasting record of the people and places that built this county, and it’s part of why Greystone Property Group treats real estate here as something more personal than a transaction.

Real estate, renovation, and property management shouldn’t require three separate relationships. Our agents, our construction and renovation teams, and our property management team work side by side, bringing the same care, safety standards, and priority to every property, from a full custom build to a simple refresh to ongoing management.
Curated representation for exceptional homes across Western North Carolina’s most prestigious communities and mountain retreats, backed by a construction background that sees build quality, craftsmanship, and true value beyond the listing photos.
This is land we know personally, not just professionally. Six generations in Transylvania County means we know which ridges hold water and which parcels have real road access. Our combined construction backgrounds take it further, helping you evaluate buildability, site prep costs, and true development potential before you’re committed to a parcel.
Strategic advisory for mixed-use, commercial, and development projects, shaped by deep construction and planning expertise. We understand permitting, site work, and build costs well enough to tell you whether a project actually pencils out before you commit.
Full-service property management is coming soon through Agile Property Management Company, our in-house division licensed under Greystone Property Group’s broker in charge. We welcome early inquiries from owners of luxury vacation rentals, investment properties, and second homes across Western North Carolina as we finalize the details.
